How we followed the records

Different ledgers, explicit cutoffs and evidence limits. Corrections are documented.

This is an explanatory reconstruction of dated public records. It makes no finding of misconduct, coordination, purchased news coverage or election effects.

The dates do not describe one common population

Record type Scope
Campaign principal-account covers July 1–September 30 and October 1–14, 2026; matched candidate periods
Selected donor reports Q3 or October 1–14, as labeled
Outside allocations Nominee G2026 snapshot acquired by October 23, 2026, 09:10:26.800581UTC /4:10:26.800581 a.m. Central; requests not atomic
SLF/TexasPAC reconstruction Identified Q3 originals2025770/2025952, signed October 15; current amendment completeness unverified
KTRK September 7–13 flight/airings, invoiced September 27; invoice period August 31–September 13
Platform observations Preserved October 19/21 snapshots, not a fresh current-inventory audit

Source reconstruction was checked October 28; the prior editorial candidate was prepared October 29; RC6’s reader-clarity presentation was prepared October 30. Its preparation date is not a newer financial cutoff. Preparation dates identify editorial work; they do not replace the financial cutoff.

What each receipt means

Document or figure What it establishes What it does not establish
Contribution receipt Who the committee reports gave money, the date and amount Specific downstream dollar tracing or an ad purchase
Committee contribution A reported outgoing item and the other committee’s reciprocal receipt Extra unique funding to add to both ledgers; affiliated-transfer status unless filed that way
Campaign disbursement An outgoing amount reported by the campaign for its period A universal advertising budget or independent bank clearing
ScheduleE allocation Candidate position, purpose, payee and reported amount; may include estimates/obligations A unique ad, invoice, settlement or audience-reach count
Media order Booking/revision terms Confirmation every spot aired or invoice settled
Post-flight station invoice What the station says aired, charges, commission and balance due Independent off-air verification or proof particular voters saw it
Zero invoice balance A displayed account balance Whether cash, a credit or another adjustment produced it
Payment settlement evidence Would verify clearing if obtained No such certification is made for these named invoices

Readable filing summaries

The appendix presents selected original fields as readable RECON summaries. They are not official FEC documents or a replacement for the originals. Each item identifies its reporting organization, amount, transaction ID where applicable, separate date fields, reporting period, physical source locator and raw original link. Report-level totals have no single transaction ID. The underlying CSV, financial selection, graphics and proposed corrections wording are unchanged from RC5. The Talarico Q3 cover retains its prior partial-byte source limitation; its signature date was not newly verified. No new broad FEC collection occurred.

Historical allocation selection

The retained ledger filters the 2025–26 cycle for Texas Senate candidate-related records, reads original filing amounts, follows amendment families and matches repeated 24/48-hour notices to regular reports. The article retains nonmemo G2026 entries naming or otherwise source-supporting the two nominees. Candidate-position allocations remain as filed; equal amounts are not automatically halved or counted as unique ads. Blank original IDs remain distinct from supported presentation labels. Receipts, committee movements, campaign amounts, vendor subsets, debt and station invoices are never added into one race-cost headline.

Exact Decimal arithmetic reproduces 1,219 allocations/$371,684,563.15 at the stated historical cutoff. The source archive preserves originals, source hashes, prior snapshots and correction decisions. This final editorial pass did not run a new broad FEC collection or change the selection method. The incomplete newer October 26 collection and later rapid-file screening are not presented as complete current spending. Inspect the records and downloads.

Limits

Current completeness and latest Q3 amendments remain unverified; bounded official index checks failed or supplied no usable rows. A document marked original does not prove no later amendment exists. Selected donors are not a complete ultimate-funder ranking or refund/internal-transfer reconciliation. Vendor names and coincident dates do not attribute a particular creative. Money in a pooled committee is not tagged to a donor’s later purchase. A source discrepancy, access failure or missing public record alone is not evidence of concealment or fraud.

Station logs and platform ranges are attributed records. They do not measure unique people or prove the election effects of spending. No audio/video is embedded or used for factual creative-content claims in this edition. Some original web links may restrict automated access; preserved originals supplied the reconstruction. We do not claim every site will be reachable for every reader at all times.

Prior work and what RECON adds

The Tribune, Chronicle, WIRED, Post and other journalists already reported the broad financial patterns and donor sequence. The article credits them. RECON’s added value is a source-linked independent reconstruction of selected transactions, accounting categories and station records, with uncertainty kept visible. No exclusivity or new misconduct finding is claimed.

Corrections

To report a factual error or challenge a source, email corrections@reconreceipts.com. Include the article link, the disputed passage or figure, and an original document, filing/transaction ID or recording timestamp where possible. Do not send confidential personal records or identifying information about children, patients or survivors.

We check the challenged statement against original records, relevant context and credible contrary evidence. We distinguish factual errors from disputed interpretations, newly filed records and changes in scope. A source's objection alone does not decide the result; the evidence does.

Material factual corrections carry a dated note explaining what changed and why. Substantive updates identify the new information, financial cutoff and any effect on the conclusions or totals. Earlier source versions and calculation history are retained. Minor spelling or formatting changes that do not alter meaning may be fixed without a separate note.

We review privacy concerns and avoid republishing unnecessary personal details. Correspondence is assessed before any quotation or disclosure. This is an error-reporting address, not a confidential whistleblower channel. We do not promise an individual reply or a fixed response time.

Updates to this account

Financial updates must identify a new source cutoff and distinguish newly filed records, amended records, changed scope and analyst corrections. Earlier calculation/source versions are retained. A change in the available data is not automatically spending newly incurred since the previous snapshot. This pre-release candidate has no public correction history to report.
